Direct Flights from Thunder Bay | the complete list

More and more travelers are getting fed up with the problems and headaches associated with connecting flights and stopovers. Below you will find a comprehensive list of everywhere you can fly to from Thunder Bay on a direct flight, along with the best methods for finding direct flights.

For the record, the correct terminology for a single flight between two cities that doesn't have any stopovers is actually supposed to be called a nonstop flight. And the technical definition of a direct flight is actually a flight that makes one stop along the way, but uses a single flight number.

In the real world though, I'd say 99% of travelers also use the term direct flight to refer to a flight that doesn't have a stopover along the way. So for the purposes of this article I'll use the terms direct and nonstop to both refer to the same thing, a flight that gets you from point A to point B without stopping .

How to find direct (nonstop) flights from Thunder Bay:

Method #1: Google Flights

- In the box under 'roundtrip', type in 'Thunder Bay' if it isn't set already
- Above the map, click on Stops and change it to 'Nonstop'

It should look something like this:

What you want to look for are the BLUE dots. These are the destinations with direct flights available from Thunder Bay. Ignore the white dots. You may need to zoom in a bit to see some of the blue dots.

Method #2: OpenFlights.org

- Type in YQT in the search bar at the lower right section of the map, and select Thunder Bay (YQT), Canada when it pops up.
- Hit Search

This will also display a map of destinations with direct flights from Thunder Bay. Unlike Google Flights though, it doesn't retrieve prices, but has some other features you may find useful, such as figuring out where you can fly to directly from airports in foreign countries. (Google Flights doesn't yet display flight data from countries outside North America).

Between these two methods, you can get a pretty good idea of what destinations you can fly to directly from Thunder Bay. Neither one has perfect data though, and either can be missing destinations, especially with regards to charter flights.

For that reason, I've compiled what I believe to be the complete and accurate list of *all* destinations that have direct flights available from Thunder Bay. Note that some may be seasonal flights and only available at certain times of the year.
